The Polariod and Our Beginning
who knew a polaroid could bring so much feelings?
the polaroid sits on the edge of my mirror. it’s been there for a while now, collecting dust. your messy handwriting sits on the white border below it, marking the date in ink. our initials are there too. is it bad that i want mine to fade away?
what if i throw this away? would it lessen the ache in my chest? i didn’t know a harmless picture could lead to this. this polaroid isn’t even the oldest one. it’s just one of many we had back when we were friends, and you were my harmless crush (one you never even knew about).
things happened after that, and it led to us becoming more than friends.
i still remember how it started shifting. how you stood closer without noticing, how conversations lingered longer than they should’ve, how i started noticing everything about you like it mattered too much.
and then it did.
now i just look at this polaroid and i can’t tell if it’s proof that something beautiful happened, or just something i never learned how to let go of.

I felt the pain and heartache in this. Photos are bittersweet, painful and joyful for the same reason, the memories they share.
