If Anyone Could’ve Save Me, It Would’ve Been You
i have never been the one to run, nor the one to chase—there is nothing gentle about pursuit, about following someone through the woods only to arrive at empty fields.
i found no answers there, only a daisy caught in the thorns of a rose, birds cutting through wind and leaves, dragging restless clouds behind them. if anyone could have saved me, it would have been you, but you vanished without a trace, and i was left gathering the scattered pieces that still remember how to be whole, trying to live as i did before knowing you existed at all.
i still won’t run, i still won’t chase, but there is one thing i would give to be with you—and i keep it with me quietly, like something buried in the fields.
because if anyone could have saved me, it should have been you.
